Day 1
Arrive in beautiful Vancouver, widely celebrated as one of the world’s most liveable cities. Spend the night at the stylish Fairmont Waterfront Hotel. With its stunning views of the North Shore Mountains, Stanley Park and the city’s central downtown, the hotel offers the perfect introduction to Vancouver’s many attractions.
Days 2 - 3
Spend the day exploring Vancouver before making your way to the port to meet your Princess cruise ship. Set sail in the late afternoon. The following day will be a day at sea. As you spend the first day of the cruise at sea, you have time to explore the many amenities on board your luxurious ship. Boasting swimming pools and hot tubs, designer shops, an art gallery and an array of eateries, plus a theatre, open-air amphitheatre and casino, you won’t know where to begin!
Day 4
Dock in Ketchikan, Alaska. Known as Alaska’s “First City”, as it’s the first major community travellers encounter as they travel north, Ketchikan began life as an Indian fishing camp. Its fishing and timber industries contributed to its status as a major port city, while a rich native heritage is evident through its collection of totem poles. Soak up the city’s Indigenous culture, enjoy outdoor adventures and sample fresh fish from nearby waters on captivating shore excursions.
Day 5
Your next stop is Juneau, the most remote state capital in the USA, only accessible by air or water. Discover its gold rush history or visit Alaska’s most famous glacier, Mendenhall.
Day 6
Cruise onward to Skagway, once the gateway to the gold fields for thousands of people who hoped to make their fortune. Immerse yourself in its historic, Frontierland feel wandering down its well-preserved streets with saloons and trading posts. Soak up the spectacular scenery surrounding the town on the White Pass Scenic Railway, an epic 27-mile journey past breathtaking waterfalls, mountains and glaciers.
Days 7 - 8
Today you will sail to Glacier Bay National Park and College Fjord, Alaska. Glide serenely through a fairytale landscape of snow-capped mountains, verdant forests and majestic glaciers. Admire some of the world’s most dramatic scenery from the ship’s deck, keeping your eyes peeled for native wildlife along the way.
Day 9
Approximately 65 miles southeast of Anchorage, the small town of Whittier is the gateway to the spectacular Prince William Sound. It’s also the departure point for reaching Alaska’s inland destinations by train. Board the Direct-to-the-Wilderness rail service and prepare for an unforgettable journey through breathtaking Alaskan scenery. Your home for the next three nights is the comfortable Denali Princess Wilderness Lodge, the closest lodge to the national park gates.
Days 10 - 11
On day ten, tour the park, looking out for a glimpse of Denali, North America’s highest peak, while searching for Denali’s “Big Five” - moose, bears, caribou, Dall sheep and wolves. The next day is yours to plan your own adventure – with a whole host of bucket-ticking activities on offer, including river rafting, hiking, scenic glacier flights and off-road ATV trips, you can choose the perfect way to spend your last day in the mesmerising surroundings.
Days 12 - 13
Travel to Alaska’s largest city by coach. Settle into your hotel before heading out to explore the shops, restaurants and cultural attractions of this metropolitan city. On day 13, depart from Anchorage Airport.
