Holidays to Greece with If Only

Greece’s reputation as an idyllic luxury holiday destination is more than merited – pristine beaches, beautifully blue seas, captivating historical sites and mouthwatering cuisine are just some of the attractions to visitors far and wide. Pretty whitewashed villages with authentic Greek tavernas are invariably photogenic, as are the memorable sunsets that bathe the beaches and beyond in their warm light.

227 inhabited islands join the mainland, providing ample choice for mesmerising Mediterranean breaks – ancient sites don’t get much more impressive than in the country’s capital, Athens, where the Parthenon towers over the city from its hilltop position, unspoiled beaches stretch out along the coast in Halkidiki, and amazing natural wonders offer the ultimate setting for active exploring in Peloponnese. Greece’s islands all have their own unique character, and a range of luxury hotels in each reveals the highlights to guests. Whether on a romantic trip for two or searching for a child-friendly base, there is an island and luxury hotel to suit.

Our Destinations In Greece

Highlights

Greece has all the ingredients for a magical luxury holiday, with plenty to tempt visitors to explore further than its stunning sandy shores.

Admire age-old architecture

A long and storied past has resulted in a variety of architectural influences throughout the country - from the palaces of the Minoan civilization, to the ancient temples of the Classical period, to impressive Roman remains. Cobbled streets coupled with elegant Ottoman and Venetian architecture encourage visitors to explore in Crete and Corfu and the iconic traditional windmills of Mykonos and Santorini have featured in many a photograph!

Get active outdoors

Get active outdoors

Sun-soaked days are easily enjoyed outdoors in Greece. The country’s mainland and islands are paradise for watersports and boat trips offer a wonderfully relaxing way of taking in the coastal sights. Spectacular scenery is all around and is the perfect backdrop for sports and leisure including hiking and biking, as well as golf, tennis and more.

Soak up spectacular sunsets

Greece’s location on the Aegean and Mediterranean Seas ensures there are amazing sunsets to see from every corner of the country, and they really are something special! Santorini is well-known for the views of this magical time of the day, but every island can offer memorable moments as the sun sinks down over the sea. Greece’s ancient relics are a unique, and spectacular, backdrop for the setting sun as well.

When To Visit

With a tourist season that spans from April to October, June to August is when the peak season crowds arrive, along with the peak summer temperatures. Sizzling sunshine is the norm and thermostats regularly exceed 30 degrees C. Resorts are buzzy with a real holiday vibe. Spring and Autumn sees milder temperatures and quieter beaches but with averages still over 20 degrees, it’s a pleasant heat to relax and explore in. From November to March many hotels, eateries and sights shut as temperatures drop.
