When To Visit

The best time to visit Oman is between October and March, when temperatures are warm yet enjoyable. In the east and north the climate is more Mediterranean, but the surrounding desert helps summer temperatures soar to 40°C. The south has a year round tropical climate and even a monsoon from July to September – keeping temperatures in the high 20°Cs.

UK residents flying into Muscat require an entry visa, currently costing approximately 20 Omani Rials per person dependant on duration, this can be arranged on arrival at Muscat Airport. For those holidaying on the Musandam Peninsula, and entering/leaving

Tipping

A service charge is normally added to most restaurant bills but if you want to tip for good service, 10-15% is the norm.

None are compulsory, however visitors should contact their doctor/medical practitioner for more information. However if you plan to travel to more remote areas and will be drinking/eating outside major restaurants and hotels, then Hepatitis A and typhoid
