This Far East itinerary is all about city sights and coastal adventures. Spend four nights exploring all that Hong Kong has to offer, from the rich culture and art scene, to one of the areas most popular urban hikes. Travel up The Peak to witness the spectacular views across Victoria Harbour and the Kowloon Peninsula. Jump over to Hanoi for the three nights and learn about the importance of drinking tea in Vietnamese society while sipping on a cup of tea yourself. Embark on a walk through Hanoi’s Old Quarter, and stroll around the charming Hoan Kiem Lake and enjoy local daily life passing by. The journey comes to an end with a more relaxed coastal approach, with seven nights in Lang Co, where you can laze on loungers on the smooth golden sand beaches or go and explore the three UNESCO World Heritage Sites of Hoi An Ancient Town, the Imperial Citadel of Hue and My Son Sanctuary.

place DAYS 1 - 4 - Hong Kong

Hong Kong

In just four days, you’ll uncover the diverse layers of Hong Kong, from its iconic views and rich culture to its natural beauty and culinary pleasures. Take a tram up to Victoria Peak, this iconic vantage point provides the best views of the city. Explore the bustling streets of Mong Kok and Tsim Sha Tsui for some shopping and cultural experiences. Visit the historical Wong Tai Sin Temple, a Taoist temple famous for its beautiful architecture and spiritual significance, and for bringing good fortune, so you’ll regularly see worshippers light fortune sticks and make wishes here, giving the place a fantastically smoky and spiritual atmosphere. Spend one of your mornings climbing one of Hong Kong’s best hiking trails - the Ngong Ping Trail, and be rewarded with views of Tung Chung Bay, the Big Buddha and the ‘stairway to heaven’. And of course don't forget to indulge and savour the city's culinary delights, from dumplings, to seafood snacks or a traditional dish of sam siu fan (three roasts with rice). 

place DAYS 5 - 7 - Hanoi

Hanoi

Spend the next three days exploring what Hanoi in Vietnam has to offer. Make a stop at Thuong Tra tea house nested in an old apartment building and learn about the importance of drinking tea in Vietnamese society while sipping on a cup of tea. Embark on a walk through Hanoi’s Old Quarter, then take a stroll around the charming Hoan Kiem Lake to enjoy local daily life passing by. Go by the historical Ba Dinh Square where Ho Chi Minh proclaimed the independence of Vietnam in 1945, then proceed to the millenia-old Temple of Literature and explore its role in the country’s past. No trip to Hanoi is complete without a Water Puppet show, this is a uniquely northern Vietnamese art form depicting scenes from rural life and episodes of national history.

place DAYS 8 - 14 - Lang Co

Lang Co

The last seven days of this itinerary takes you to the smooth golden sand beaches of Lang Co, while staying at Banyan Tree Lang Co which is located in Da Nang, the largest city in Central Vietnam. It is nestled between the azure waters of the East Sea and the Truong Son mountain range. This is the perfect destination for travellers who seek a luxury hideaway, or a base from which to explore this beautiful area - one which includes the three UNESCO World Heritage Sites of Hoi An Ancient Town, the Imperial Citadel of Hue and My Son Sanctuary.
